Trophy Final 1990 - 19 years ago!Following a very disappointing second replay FA Trophy final defeat in 1973 against Gzira United, nineteen years ago (29th of April 1990), the Birkirkara faithful were feeling the thrill of another final, this time against the mighty 'Blues' from Sliema. Valley road was filled with scenes of pre-match celebrations, as the 'Karkarizi' were all forming-up in groups for a drink or two before making their way up to the Ta'Qali National Stadium. Some were even more organised than the rest, as these particular groups organised a number of trailers instead of the traditional carcades. The match itself was quite entertaining, and despite suffering an unfair 1-0 loss,the Birkirkara supporters were still praised for giving a lesson to the other local clubs' faithful of how support in the stands should really be.
